In today’s world, learning how to make meaning of data has emerged as a necessary skill. Middle school students in grades 6, 7 and 8 from Groveton High School in Groveton, NH have been learning data science through WeatherX a pilot program developed by the Mount Washington Observatory (MWO), the Education Development Center (EDC), the Concord Consortium and the Universities of Maine and Washington and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Other students in northern New Hampshire and Maine have also participated in the program.
